KFSH&RC is an 800-bed multi-facility, multi-entity tertiary care hospital and one of the leading healthcare institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Its mission is to provide medical services of highly specialized nature and promote medical research and education programs, including postgraduate education training, as well as contribute to the prevention of disease.
Medical & Clinical Operations
Department such as Anaesthesiology, King Faisal Heart institute, King Faisal Cancer Centre, Liver Transplant unit, Paediatric Haematology, Neuroscience, Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery are just some of the department that make King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre as a unique referral hospital of the region. Our consultant are highly qualified and trained in their sub specialty that caters to the Kingdoms needs. Patients are admitted to King Faisal Specialist Hospital from a variety of sources including the outpatient and emergency departments. Because of the specialties offered at King Faisal, transfers from other hospitals in the Kingdom are routine. The hospital has approximately 22,007 annual admissions and approximately 514,000 ambulatory care visits per year.
Clinical Services
Clinical Services is another important division of the Hospital. Most of the technical position falls under this division. Important departments such as Radiation Therapy, Respiratory Care Services, Ambulance Care Services, Pharmacy Services and other department form our technical staff. This division handles all the Hospitals' technical requirements.
Nursing Affairs
Another important division of the Hospital is Nursing Affairs. Approximately, fourteen hundred international nurses work together in the Hospital and provide the best patient care possible. Nursing recruitment is an important part of our organization. General Nursing Orientation (GNO) is held once monthly and directly follows the hospital orientation that commences with a welcome dinner held on the Saturday evening following your arrival. The Hospital Orientation runs on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, and the General Nursing Orientation (GNO) commences on the Wednesday morning.
Prior to leaving the nursing orientation program you will have a chance to meet with your Head Nurse and unit preceptor. The preceptor is usually another Staff Nurse on your team who is assigned to assist and guide you once you start working on your new unit. Over your first few weeks on the unit you will work with your preceptor for approximately eight to eleven shifts before taking on your own caseload.
Housing Services
Housing is provided on the main hospital compound in apartment blocks and in two story houses in the area locally known as MCV. Single males and couples are housed off the main hospital compound. All hospital housing areas have a swimming pool and modern well-equipped gymnasiums available. Other recreational facilities on the hospital compound include Starbucks, tennis courts, a bowling alley, squash courts and a very beautiful park where families of staff can interact and enjoy the facilities. Our single female accommodation complexes also have Internet facilities that are free and available 24 hours/7 days a week, for research or personal purposes. The JCIA is the world premier healthcare-accrediting agency based in Chicago, Illinois, USA. The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre is only one of four hospitals in the world to be accredited outside The United States of America. In the Middle East, the hospital has been a pioneer in kidney and bone marrow transplantation, IVF, and orthopaedic, oncology and cardiovascular surgery programs.
Benefits
Medical and Dental Treatment
As an international employee of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre you are entitled to Medical Care through the Family Medicine Department. Dental Treatment is on an emergency basis only for the first year, with basic dental care provided thereafter. Basic dental care is that which is necessary to maintain good oral health, but does not include such procedures as crowns, bridges, partial or full dentures, or orthodontics.
Leave Time
As an employee at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, you are entitled to receive 30 days annual leave and a minimum of 20 days holiday per year for a total of 50 vacation days per year!!! This allows ample opportunity to take extended trips to your home country or to see the world and experience international travel at its best
Airline Tickets
As an International employee of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, you will be entitled to both Initial Hire and Repatriation tickets to and from your point of origin. In addition, each year you will be entitled to a free round-trip annual leave ticket to your point of origin. Free Hospital Housing
As an International employee of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, you are entitled to receive either free Hospital housing or a housing allowance (some restrictions apply). As you will not be making rental or mortgage payments here in the Kingdom, this gives yet another boost to your monthly salary with money in your pocket!
Relocation Allowance
As an International employee of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre a generous relocation allowance will be offered to you upon both initial hire and repatriation (some restrictions apply). The amount of this relocation allowance depends upon your point of origin and your contract status.
