King Abdulaziz Medical City Al Hasa
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saudgave directions to found this hospital and to be named after King Abdulaziz, Arabian Peninsula unifier. Project construction began in 1995 and was completed June 2002.
The project consisted of four parts: the Hospital and it's annexed buildings, families and nurses housing, singles housing and public services. The Hospital is a 300-bed capacity and provides primary and secondary care to National Guard personnel, their dependents and the citizens of Eastern Region. It consists of 3 levels of a total area of 35,000 square miles including Basement, Ground Floor and First Floor.
The Ground Floor includes Outpatient Clinics, Pharmacy, four Operating Rooms and Day Surgery Operation Room. It also includes eight beds for Haemodialysis of which two are specified for isolation patients, Physical Therapy Department, Radiology Department, Endoscopy, ER, ICU, Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department with two rooms for caesareans and six L & D rooms, Administration section and a Mosque. The First Floor includes patients' wards, one for males and the other for females, a third for Gynaecology, the fourth for Obstetrics and a fifth for female surgery. There are also two surgeries. There are also two surgical wards for males, an ophthalmology ward, an ENT ward and a VIP ward.
Accommodation
Families and Nurses Housing consists of eight duplex villas, three buildings (36 apartments of 2-bedrooms each), three buildings of 36 apartments 3-bedrooms each, five buildings for nurses housing to accommodate (570) nurses, a Mosque, a Nursery, Athletic Club and a Swimming Pool, including Festival Hall and play fields. Single Housing, on the other hand, includes one building to house 90 individuals, playing fields, labourer accommodation (250 individuals) and singles Restaurant, a Club and Offices for Maintenance Contractor. Public Services including gates, Fire Station, water tanks, fences public water works, landscaping, asphalting and paving works and outdoor lighting.
