Contracts, Salaries and Benefits
Contracts
Contracts in Saudi Arabia are generally for one or two years, renewable by mutual agreement. There is a sign-on bonus equivalent to one-month salary if you re-contract.
The majority of employment contracts in Saudi Arabia are "single
status", which means that even if you are married, your spouse and/or
family members cannot accompany you to Saudi Arabia. Some
senior/administrative, nursing and medical contracts allow family
members to travel to and live in Saudi Arabia.
Married contract. Only some senior positions offer family contract (Accompanied
status - up to 3 eligible dependents, one of whom is a spouse).
Salaries
Salaries in Saudi Arabia vary depending on the hospital you work in, the experience you have and the country you are recruited from. Most hospitals base their salary and allowances on rates prevailing in the recruit's country of origin, i.e. US, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle and Far East. The salary and benefit package for the post you apply for will be advised on initial application.
Salaries are normally paid at the end of each month in Saudi Riyals (SR) directly into the employee's bank account. The hospitals assist you in opening a bank account and many hospitals have a bank with ATM machines on site from where you can transfer money easily to anywhere in the world.
