Hi Mari,You are right when you say that I was going to be very busy for my first few weeks. After an excellent orientation I have now started at ward one. For the first month I will work with a preceptor and after that just work day shifts so there will be with my mentor and the nurse coordinator. The staff at the ward are friendly and nice. There are people from 45 different Countries representated at the hospital which makes all my days extremely colorful. The work is interesting and the hospital very different from Scandinavia. The villa I live in with two other women at my age is very comfortable and beautiful and I have made a few friends already on the compound. So far everything is good and even if I understand that it can´t be that always, I will trust my first impression and go for it. Hard work is waiting but it does not take away the feeling I have, that it is a privilege to be here, in a Country which is developing extremely fast in spite of it´s conservative perspective. That was a few word about my first impression in Riaydh. I will write more in two months as you asked about the nursing system compared to Sweden. Kind regards Ingela Oct 2010 Last updated: 22.11.2011 |
